Cabo Rico Yachts is a renowned builder of semi-custom fiberglass cruising yachts, renowned for their traditional craftsmanship, seaworthiness and elegance.
Founded in 1965 by John Schofield in Costa Rica, the company began by building motorboats in a corner of the British Leyland assembly plant.

In the early 1970s, it turned to sailboats, launching the W.I.B. Crealock-designed Tiburon 36 ketch.
This model evolved into the iconic Cabo Rico 38 in 1977, which became the centerpiece of their product range.
