Prout Catamaran

The Prout shipyard is an emblematic figure in the history of cruising catamarans.

Founded in the UK in 1935 by Geoffrey Prout, the company initially manufactured folding canoes and kayaks. Then, in the 1950s, his sons Roland and Francis Prout played a key role in the company's move into catamaran construction, notably with the building of the Shearwater.

The company ceased operations in 2002.
