In 1884, naval architect Benjamin Bénéteau founded the Bénéteau shipyard in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Vendée, to build sailing trawlers for fishermen.
In 1912, a forerunner in his time, Benjamin Bénéteau launched the first tuna boat to combine sail and motor.
And so, for over 120 years, Bénéteau has been building a wide range of sail and powerboats.
